Infrastructure Planning and Dimensioning
Trackage, New lines, Station planning
The investigations in railway infrastructure for new and upgrade lines are very capital-intensive and in general made for a period of at least 30 years. Therefore it is essential to execute a requirement analysis of the future railway traffic and the required railway infrastructure for avoiding an unprofitable investment.
RMCon investigates the planned and predicted traffic on a future infrastructure in line with the infrastructure planning and dimensioning. For this purpose the future infrastructure and railway operation procedures are amongst other things implemented in the software system RailSys. With the help of the timetable construction and the subsequently following operational simulation it is evaluated whether the dimensioning of the infrastructure complies with the requirements.
This allows a qualified statement concerning the requested infrastructure and operational procedures in future.
By investigating different variants varying scenarios can be evaluated and compared to each other. The objective is to develop a sustainable and cost effective infrastructure.
